Taylor Swift Live Concert Experience
My Taylor Swift Experience – by Tyler Campbell
September 12, 2013 was a warm summer night. Taylor Swift was performing in Greensboro North Carolina, which is and where I experienced my first and thus far best concert ever.
Never having been to a concert before, I had no idea of what to expect. Once we parked, I began to realize just how many people love Taylor Swift. That is when my curiosity began to peak. There were literally thousands of people quickly moving to enter the coliseum area, many of them proudly displaying Taylor swift apparel.
The aroma of the variety of food choices was so enticing. It wasn’t long before I found myself purchasing food as well as my own Taylor Swift T-shirt from one of the many vendors. Finding our seats was fairly easy considering all the event staff on hand. We were blessed with incredible tickets, although I doubt there was a bad view in the coliseum because of the jumbo screens and interaction with the fans. I quickly knew Taylor was about to make her grand entrance when the lights went out and her signature song “Love Story” began to play. Taylor floated in from the top of the coliseum like a musical angel. At that moment I knew it was going to be an extra good evening. I asked myself, how did she do that? Taylor looked amazing in her bright pink dress which was one of many she wore during the concert. The stage itself was massive accommodating Taylor and the many backup dancers and band members. The lights were flashing along with the music but yet as if they were performing their own show. It was fantastic! I couldn’t believe it I was only 50 feet away from the “Taylor Swift”.
Instantly, I heard the diverse group of fans, people of all ages screaming their lungs out along with Taylor. I even caught myself a thirteen year old boy joining in. I began to take my phone it and snap as many photos as possible. I knew all my friends would be jealous. We were all enjoying every moment. It was seeing that overwhelming happy look on my mother’s face that made my night even better.
One thing that surprised me was that there were so many people in the coliseum but I was not the least bit crowded. I had more than enough room to dance and sing along with everyone else. Taylor wore her signature long blonde hair multiple ways during the night. It was as though her hair was an accessory that coordinated perfectly with each of her different outfits that she wore throughout the show. Of course, Taylor’s backup dancers were incredible and only added to the excitement. They too, changed multiple times to create an ever-changing stage presence. I was truly amazed how the stage moved up and down and objects constantly changing all while Taylor continued to perform. It was apparent that Taylor was very comfortable and accustomed to all the action because she remained relaxed and continued to do what she does best. She interacted with the crowd the entire show and encouraged fans to sing along with her.
I said to myself “I am the luckiest person on earth”. Unfortunately, as with anything, the fun had to end but not before Taylor provided repeat encore performances. The concert was truly amazing! It was one special show filled with jam packed entertainment that I will never forget.
I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Honestly, watching Taylor perform and display her talents inspired me to set higher goals for myself and strive for whatever I want in life. While building her career, Taylor was brave and remained fearless to transition into the very successful performer that she is. Lucky for us, Taylor Swift made her dreams come true allowing us to enjoy her music.
