Sting was born in Newcastle, England. He moved to London in 1977. He formed The Police with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers who recorded 5 albums and won six Grammy awards. In 2003 Sting was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
One of world’s most recognizable sounds is the voice of Sting. When he was lead vocalist in The Police, they released “Roxanne,” “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” and “Every Breath You Take”, still classics. Following The Police’s 1983 album, Synchronicity, Sting began a solo career, writing, recording and performing “Fields of Gold” and “Desert Rose”, timeless music from a timeless musician.
He’s released 13 solo albums and sold nearly 100 million albums, plus won 10 Grammy awards, Golden Globe, Emmy, and has appeared in 15 films. Sting has authored 2 books including a New York Times Best Seller.
